Restrict Edits to Capex Only During Reapproval

The reapproval process for CAPEX requests allows modifications like increased funds, extended timelines, or additional equipment. Capexplan provides two key settings to control the level of edit access during this process.

Both settings are located in:
General Settings → Basic Settings → Page 3

Allow Full Edit of the CAPEX Request on Reapproval
  • Adds an Edit button inside the reapproval pop-up form
  • Clicking it reopens the full CAPEX request for editing
  • Users can modify any field of the original request, not just limited sections like funds or justification.
Allow Only Full Edit of CAPEX Requests on Reapproval
  • Skips the reapproval pop-up entirely
Clicking Request Increased Funds immediately reopens the full CAPEX request
  • Provides direct, unrestricted editing access

Step-by-Step: How it Works

Scenario: Request Increased Funds
  • Locate an approved CAPEX Request on the Tracking Page
  • Click Request Increased Funds
Without These Settings
  • A pop-up form appears
  • You can only:
    • Enter increased funds (e.g., add $10,000)
  • Justify the change
  • Add documents or comments
  • Propose a new project end date
With Allow Full Edit on Reapproval Enabled
  • The pop-up form includes an Edit button
  • Clicking Edit reopens the full CAPEX request for unrestricted modifications
With Allow Only Full Edit on Reapproval Enabled
  • The system bypasses the pop-up entirely
  • Full CAPEX request opens immediately for direct editing
Submitting Reapproval

After making edits:

  • Navigate to the Finalization Stage
  • Submit the updated request
  • The reapproval workflow is initiated with all changes applied
Important Notes
  • These settings give organizations flexibility to control edit permissions during reapproval
  • Use them based on internal policies and the level of user flexibility required
